According to him, Armenian party firmly stood its ground during Karabakh peace talks. "That was proven by Madrid principles published recently," he stressed.President Serzh Sargsyan's statements on conflict settlement and the principles enshrined in Madrid document correspond to each other, Harutyunyan added, stressing Azerbaijani side's inconsistent policy, "What Aliyev says during negotiations differ from what he tells his people," he said. The speaker also agreed to RPA press secretary Edward Sharmazanov's statement on the three principles, noting that NKR could not have a lower status than it has at present, and Armenia should have a land border with Karabakh, guaranteeing its security. Harutyunian finds that the publication of Madrid principles aims at introducing both country's societies to the essence of talks.
