Georgia can return to CIS, if it wants

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgia could again become member of the Commonwealth of Independent States, if it wishes, Sergey Lebedev , Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee stated today in Minsk.



He recalled that the formal procedure of Georgia's withdrawal from the CIS was completed on Tuesday August 18, but the country continues to participate in more than 70 agreements, not requiring compulsory membership. Sergey Lebedev stressed that withdrawal of Georgia from the Commonwealth is not beneficial either to the people of Georgia, or the economy of the country.
