First Armenian church of St. Gevork opens in Spain
First Armenian Church opened in Cologne Spanish town, near Barcelona. Thanks to an agreement with the Cologne Municipality, one of the town chapels was leased to the Armenian Apostolic Church for thirty years.

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Spain were established in 1992, but there have been no Armenian church in the country. Recently, at the request of the Catholicos of All Armenians, adviser to the RA minister of Diaspora Gaspar Petrosyan met the Patriarchal Envoy to Western Europe, the Archbishop Norvan Zakaryan and discussed the future of development of the spiritual center of the Armenian community in Spain.
