ARMENIAN NUCLEAR PLANT TO OPERATE UNTIL 2008

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian nuclear power plant will operate until 2008. Deputy Minister of Energy of Armenia Areg Galstian stated it today. In his words, accounts show that taking into consideration the volume of investments and growth of electric energy consumption the station can be closed only in 2008, not in 2004 as the European Union insists. The Deputy Minister reminded that an agreement was reached with EU that the station would be closed only when alternative sources of energy were created. Galstian stressed that the question of atomic energy was included in the program of Armenian energy stable development until 2020.
