Turkey will have to sacrifice its "younger brother"

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian press keeps commenting on the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.

Hamshahri Tehran-based newspaper published an article titled "Baku - defeated party in Armenian-Turkish process".

The article says that Ankara's statement on Karabakh are untrue and that actually Turkey will have to sacrifice its "younger brother"

"To protest Yerevan-Ankara rapprochement, Baku resorts to odd moves. For example, it takes off Turkish flags across the city. This was the reason why Turkish leader had to say that resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on Azerbaijan's favor is Turkey's priority. But is it possible to believe that Armenia will surrender Karabakh," it says.

"Armenia an Turkey are on the threshold of opening of the border but resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is not near, as some optimistic Turkish politicians say. Turkey is trying to maintain relations with Azerbaijan, rich in oil. That is why a large number of Azerbaijani state figures still hope for Turkey support in Karabkh issue. At all appearance, Turkey will risk to normalize relations with Armenia. Ergodan is charged with the task to free his country from stereotypes. Turkey had to hold out the olive branch to Armenia to somehow oppose the Armenian lobby and find a way to Europe. Under the circumstances, Ankara will not use Karabakh issue as a tool of pressure on Armenia.
