Gender equality studies classify Armenia as the 91st state in the list of 134 countries
"There are currently 3 types of discrimination demanding urgent solution in Armenia: domestic violence against women and girls, discrepancies of marriageable age between men and women and level of women's involvement in decision-making processes depending on the level of their education. It is necessary to elaborate mechanisms and systems for resolving those problems and have women's representation in all spheres of state activities," Head of RA MFA International Organizations Department Dziunik Aghajanyan told a news conference devoted to Armenia's compliance with the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.

Our parties today mostly fit the "male club" status," said MP Hermine Naghdalyan, Head of Women's Council.

Jemma Hasratyan, Head of the Association of Women with University Education, divulged the results of gender equality studies which classify Armenia as the 91st country in the list of 134 states.

Conference was attended by NA parliamentarians, as well as representatives from RA Government and Ministries.
