Anahit Bakhshyan: situation in education sector not satisfactoryDecember 11, 2009 - 17:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - There are a lot of laws which remain on paper, according to Anahit Bakhshyan, Head of Parliament's Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. "The Law on Comprehensive Education may have the same fate if the government does not approve the normative acts concerning the law," she told a news conference on Friday. "The law adopted four months ago envisages experimental use of textbooks within a year. But four months later, the relevant clause was removed from the legislation on account of publishers' complaints," Bakhshyan said. At that, she noted that the situation with comprehensive education system cannot be considered satisfactory. "Statement on the necessity of reforms will be constantly made, but we'll need time to put them in practice. Besides, the sluggishness of state structures will affect the quality of education," said the MP.
