RA Control Service: Ministry of justice failed to exercise proper control over activities of notaries

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian ministry of justice, as the competent authority to implement control over notaries' activities, failed to exercise its duties in 2009, Hovhannes Hovsepyan, head of RA President's office Control Service told a press conference in Yerevan today.



Inspections carried out among 10 notaries, identified a number of violations.



According to him, RA Control Service identified 150 cases when transactions were concluded by persons not having appropriate authority and a single reference from the inventory.



The Control Service also revealed serious irregularities in transfers of university students from one institution to another. He also mentioned violations by the Higher Certifying Commission of Armenia. "In particular, the Commission has issued a legal act not registered by the Ministry of Justice", the head of the Service said.
