ARMENIAN CENTRAL BANK ANNOUNCED A COMPETITION FOR DESIGNING NEW BANK NOTES

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Central Bank of Armenia has announced a competition for the best design of bank notes worth 10 thousand drams and coins of 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 drams. The competition works should correspond to the style of the notes, issued the previous years. As it is known prominent Armenian scientists, cultural workers and figures of art and literature are portrayed on the notes worth from 50 drams to 20 thousand drams. Great poet Avetik Isahakian and a plot from his works are suggested to be depicted on the new bank note. The bank note dimensions are 150 by 72 millimeters. The author of the best design will be rewarded 100 thousand drams. And the winners of the contest for the best coin design for each of the listed face values will receive 50 thousand drams. Then the Central Bank will announce a competition for manufacturing the new bank note and the coins, which will be put into circulation at the turn of the year.
