RA NA Speaker, Lebanese Foreign Minister discuss Karabakh problem and Armenian-Turkish rapprochement

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 12, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, who is on a three-day visit to Lebanon, met with Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Ali Shami, the RA NA press office reported.

Praising the Armenian community for contributing to development of Lebanon, Mr. Shami expressed willingness to strengthen relations with Armenia in political, economic and cultural fields.

The Armenian-Turkish rapprochement and Karabakh conflict were also is focus during the meeting. Mr. Abrahamyan once again said that Armenia is ready to establish relations with Turkey without preconditions. As for the Karabakh conflict, he noted that the conflict shall be settled peacefully in the OSCE Minsk Group framework, with recognition of Karabakh people’s right to self-determination.

Mr. Shami said for his part that Lebanon supports efforts for peaceful resolution of the conflict.
