MCC investments in RA agriculture to total $180 mln till September 2011May 10, 2010 - 11:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Deputy PM, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan took part in the opening ceremony of a 2.5-km sector of Aygezard (Ararat region) gravity water supply system. Chairman of the water industry committee at the Ministry of Territorial Administration Andranik Andreasyan, Ararat region governor Vardges Hovakimyan, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch and MCA-Armenia CEO Ara Hovsepyan were also attending. Aygezard’s gravity water supply system, which is being restored with the MCA-Armenia funds, stretches for 8.5 km. “Introduction of new irrigation technologies will help increase competitiveness of local agricultural products,” Minister Gevorgyan said.
