USD 50 mln to be invested in Armenian agricultureJuly 13, 2010 - 11:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - About USD 50 mln will be invested for implementation of Rural Assets Creation Program, Armenian Agriculture Minister said. “The program will be presented to all interested parties to coordinate proposals and amendments for its transparent implementation,” Gerasim Alaverdyan said. The program co-financed by International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Armenian government envisages stone fruit trees growing (USD 12 mln) and development of infrastructure in rural areas (USD 37 mln). “The program will be signed in the near future. all essential works will be carried out to launch it in time,” Minister Alaverdyan said. He also informed that IFAD and OPEC-cofunded projects produce good results. “Over 100 communities were supplied with gas, irrigation system was restored in 24 communities, roads were repaired in 14 communities,” Alaverdyan said.
