Tigran Hayrapetyan: police intimidated aggrieved students of special school #11

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lawyer Tigran Hayrapetyan said that a victim of actions of Levon Avakyan, a teacher of Nubarashen Special School #11, has withdrawn her claim under pressure of policemen.

The trial on appeal against the sentence of Nubarashen and Erebuni regular court on recognizing Levon Avakyan guilty and sentencing him to two years of imprisonment kicked off with the statement by the judge of the Court of Appeal that one of the victims has rejected her claim.

“Several days ago, the aggrieved girl called me to tell that she was forced to withdraw the claim,” Hayrapetyan told a press conference on July 22.

According to the lawyer, the judge knows that the girl was intimidated.

“Referring to the absence of the lawyer of defendant Levon Avakyan, as well as of the aggrieved party, the judge has postponed the hearing, what is a violation of human rights,” said Hayrapetyan, adding that during this period policemen may manage to intimidate another victim as well as.
