Terms of Russian base deployment in Armenia to be extended till 2044August 18, 2010 - 15:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The terms of Russian base deployment in Armenia will be extended till 2044, RA Foreign Minister said. “A new agreement will be signed during the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Armenia,” Edward Nalbandian said in an interview with Russia 24 TV channel. “The agreement will read that the Russian military base jointly with the Armenian armed forces will ensure security of the republic, providing Armenia with armament and modern defense technologies.” Minister Nalbandian also noted that Armenia appreciates Russia’s mediation in Karabakh process and supports President Medvedev’s initiative for European security pact.
