Medvedev, Gul discuss situation in TranscaucasiaAugust 23, 2010 - 17:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 23, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev had a telephone talk with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul. During the conversation, Medvedev thanked Turkish authorities for support in elimination of the consequences of natural disaster in Russia. At the same time, Russian President expressed readiness to extend aid in a serious situation formed as a result of forest fires in western regions of Turkey. The parties gave high assessment to solidarity and strategic partnership level between the states. The two leaders discussed implementation of agreements reached at Medvedev’s May 2010 visit to Turkey, exchanging views on situation in Transcaucasia. The parties agreed to join efforts in achievement of peace and stability in the region, Kremlin press service reported.
