"ARMENIAN-TURKISH RECONCILIATION COMMISSION TASK IS TO PREVENT RECOGNITION OF GENOCIDE BY US CONGRESS," - a member of the commission states

PanARMENIAN.Net - Revelation of one of the members of the so-called Armenian-Turkish reconciliation commission became a new argument confirming that the activity of the commission contradicts to Armenians' national interests. Ozdem Sanbery representing Turkey stated in an interview to "525" newspaper, which is being published in Baku, that "the main purpose of the commission is prevention of passing resolutions on the Armenian genocide by US Congress and Parliaments of the Western countries". "It is very important for us the question not to become a subject of consideration by the Congress. As long as we continue the dialogue, I am sure "Armenian resolution" will not be included in the Congress agenda, and we - the Turks will gain from it," - Sanbery maintains. Let us remind that the members of the commission, representing the Armenian side, have recently come out with a statement, in which they expressed discontent that the commission's activity can harm the cause of international recognition of the fact of the Armenian genocide.
