As Georgian frontier police reported, Hamlet Adamyan was detained as a result of special operation conducted by Georgian police in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. As the investigation clarified, on October 22, Adamyan entered Georgia from Russian territory. Georgia does note have an official check points on the land frontier with Russia, so the entry from Russian territory is considered illegal.
