HIGH-RANKING IRANIAN STATESMAN CALLED THE ROLE OF THE MINSK GROUP UNSUCCESSFUL

PanARMENIAN.Net - At a meeting with Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian, Secretary of Security Council of Iran Hasan Rovhani called the role of the Minsk Group unsuccessful for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. "Mediamax" agency reports this with reference to "IRNA" Iranian agency. According to the information provided by the agency, the high-ranking statesman contended that, if the Minsk Group did not manage to achieve progress in the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijanian confrontation, it would be necessary to proceed to working out a new strategy for settlement.

Let us remind that yesterday the Secretary of the Security Council of Iran arrived in Yerevan on a state visit. One of the purposes of his arrival is preparation to the visit of the President of Armenia to Teheran. It is expected that Robert Kocharian will leave for the neighbour country early in autumn.
