According to him, the Armenian papers of Diaspora need sponsors. Editor of Prague-based Orer (Days) journal Hakob Asatryan noted for his part that new Diaspora does not attach importance to reading. “The modern Diaspora lacks the tradition of subscription to papers and journals,” he said, adding that Orer journal disseminates most part of its circulation for free. Editor of Los Angeles-based Asbarez paper Abo Poghikian said that they basically face the problem of staff members – journalists – who know the language and are familiar with the Armenian community of Los Angeles. According to him, all employees of the paper are volunteers, whose work is not paid.
