Vice President of the Armenian Olympic Committee, First Vice President of the Armenian Boxing Federation, and member of the Executive Committee of the European Boxing Confederation (EBC) Derenik Gabrielyan said that the matter of the European Cup’s organization had been discussed for a long time at sittings of the EBC. “As soon as First Vice President of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation Gaydamak Ivanovich presented his concept and provided sound arguments in favor of Ukraine, nobody doubted that this country will host the European Cup,” the official website of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation quoted Gabrielyan as saying. Gabrielyan added that the European Cup is basically aimed at gathering the leading boxers of Europe and defining the strongest boxers. “Judging from participants list, I can state that interesting bouts are expected,” said Gabrielyan.
