CIS countries adjust mechanism for customs violations preventionOctober 27, 2010 - 15:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in the 52nd session of CIS customs services officials. “Organization of the session in Yerevan for the third time is an evidence of Armenia’s interest towards intensification of the regional cooperation. The activity of the Council of Heads of CIS Customs Services is aimed at drafting documents to facilitate the maximum usage of the trade and economic potential of our countries,” the Prime Minister said. He added that a mechanism is adjusted for holding agreed operative measures for prevention of customs violations. “I strongly believe that criminal groups basically create shadow economy. Taking this into consideration, the struggle against customs violations and corruption should remain among priorities of the CIS customs services,” Sargsyan said. The Council of Heads of CIS Customs Services was established on December 23, 1993, to implement provisions of the agreement on economic union creation.
