Lavrov, Clinton discuss regional problems

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the sidelines of the 17th ASEAN summit in Hanoi.

The schedule of upcoming mutual visits at various levels was in the focus of the meeting. Besides, the parties discussed implementation of agreements reached during the official visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to the U.S. on June 22-24, 2010.

As for international matters, the parties referred to the Iranian nuclear program, control over weapons in Europe, joint efforts on estimation of missile challenges, Near East settlement, situation in Afghanistan and South Caucasus, etc, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
