OSCE gives high assessment to steps towards decriminalisation of libel and insult in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Within the framework of OSCE summit in Astana, Armenian President Serzh Sargysan met with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of Media Dunya Miyatovich.

At the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of OSCE structures’ activities in strengthening of democracy, implementation of reforms and human rights protection in Armenia.

Ms. Miyatovich, in turn, gave high assessment to Armenian authorities’ steps towards decriminalisation of libel and insult in the country, which could serve as an example to be followed by other OSCE states, presidential press service reported.
