Islamic TV channel launched in Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first Islamic TV channel is test-launched in Russia.

The need for such a channel was voiced in 2009 by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who said that theologists should explain the grounds of Islam on a proper level.

The project is estimated at $1,5-4 million to be financed by Muslim communities in Russia, according to Gazeta.ru.
