AMAP works at creation of audio tours for Armenia’s sights

Armenian Monuments Awareness Project (AMAP) is working at creation of audio tours for Armenia’s sights.

“The tours, which will use the cellular capabilities of the country, will introduce 21st century technology into the tourism. The project has 5 multi-language audio tours that will be available to the public using their cellular-enabled devices. The tours will be available in Armenian, English, Russian, Italian and French,” AMAP spokesman Kristina Besalyan stated.

Garni, Geghard, Agarak, Aghtsk and Yerevan were selected as the first five sights to be covered.

Each site will have a specific phone number, allowing for a self-guided tour through the audio instructions.

As Kristina Besalyan noted, the technology will allow generating donations to increase AMAP’s ability to expand its operations while lessening its reliance on annual donor pledge drives.
