Armenian-Turkish protocols exhausted, expert says

PanARMENIAN.Net - The protocols on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations are exhausted, according to senior fellow at the RA NAS Oriental Studies Institute.

“To resume a dialogue for the Armenian-Turkish normalization, talks should be started anew,” turkologist Anush Hovhannisyan told a news conference on April 1. “However, progress is unlikely, as the 2011 parliamentary election will be followed by the presidential race. Erdogan’s Justice and Development party will hardly venture risky steps, fearing to lose votes.”
