Chinese Politburo member awarded with YSLU medalApril 11, 2011 - 19:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 11, Yerevan State Linguistic University after Bryusov (YSLU) hosted an event to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of YSLU Confucius Institute. The event hosted a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China, Li Changchun; Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan. As the YSLU rector Suren Zolyan stated at the event, Mr. Changchun’s visit will promote Armenia-China relations. According to Mr. Zolyan, Chinese will soon be taught as a first language at YSLU. YSLU rector awarded Mr. Changchun with the University’s gold medal. A concert program was featured at the event, followed by a ceremonious unveiling of a Confucius bust.
