Bako Sahakyan: Shahumyan region development is of strategic importanceApril 29, 2011 - 09:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 28, President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited the Shahumyan region of the republic. In the Karvachar regional center the President convoked a consultation with the participation of heads of the regional administration’s departments and discussed a wide range of issues related to the region’s socioeconomic development. He underlined that taking into consideration the peculiar significance of the Shahumyan region, its development was among the pivotal strategic issues for our republic. Mr. Sahakyan also gave instructions to the heads of relative structures for proper realization of the programs being implemented in the region. Thereafter, the President together with students of Artsakh and Yerevan State Universities took part in a tree planting event in Karvachar and attended the ceremony of launching construction of a youth camp. On the same day Bako Sahakyan left for the Kashatagh region. In Berdzor regional center the President was present at a concert given by the creative groups of the region. Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan and other officials accompanied the President during the visits, reported the Central Information Department of the Office of the Artsakh Republic President.
