Impossible to bring Karabakh back to talks now - expertJuly 4, 2011 - 15:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Now it is practically impossible to bring Nagorno Karabakh back to talks due to Azerbaijan’s stand, according to Caucasus Institute Director Alexander Iskandaryan. “This would mean that Azerbaijan is ready for compromise and agreement,” the political analyst told a press conference in Yerevan, adding that Azerbaijan treats negotiations not as means to find a solution to the problem but as a tool of pressure. Iskandaryan noted, however, that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs understand importance of Nagorno Karabakh’s engagement in the negotiation process. “It is clear that Karabakh cannot be a formal party in this process because of Azerbaijan’s position. It is also clear that this conflict cannot be settled without NKR’s participation in talks,” he said.
