Armenia will welcome EU assistance in strengthening democracy in Artsakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Democracy is an absolute value, deserving of EU assistance, according to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

As President Sargsyan noted during a joint news conference with his Polish counterpart Bronislaw Komorowski, Armenia would be glad of EU assistance in strengthening of democratic structures in NKR.

As the Armenian leader noted, Artsakh people, promoting the development of democracy for the last 17 years, hope for EU assistance. According to President Sargsyan, both parliamentary and presidential elections in Artsakh were held in accordance with international standards, which Artsakh people are very proud of.

As President Komorowski, in turn, noted, Poland always supported the principles of territorial integrity, inviolability of borders and peoples’ right for self-determination in the settling of disputes. The Polish leader further emphasized the importance of peaceful settlement and the involvement of West in conflict settlement.
