Armenian Justice Minister met with killed soldiers’ parents

Armenian Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan met with the parents of soldiers who died during their military service.

Speaking to the parents who are holding protest actions in front of the government building, the Minister stated that the situation troubles him, however it is beyond the competence of the ministry to meddle with legal proceedings.

According to Tovmasyan, they can take action only after the verdict is passed. Here he underlined that firstly he is concerned about improvement of the juridical system in the country. He also noted that such incidents occur not only in the army but also in everyday life. “The officers’ squad is being shaped and its final formation will take time,” he said.

“An Army Without Murders” NGO is holding protests in front of the government building. Parents of the murdered soldiers have joined the demonstration. They demand punishment for the accomplices in the death of their sons and urge a meeting with Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
