Vahan Jugharyan breaks through to Wrestling Championships 1/8 final

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Vahan Jugharyan (60kg) defeated Czech’s Michal Nowak in the 1/16 final of the World Wrestling Championships in Istanbul.

Despite a 1-0 defeat in the first round, he won the other two 1-0 and 2-0 to enter the next stage of competition.

In 1/8 final Jugharyan will fight against Luis Liendo (Venezuela), who defeated Andre Stig Berge (Norway).

Fighters taking the first 5 places will be eligible to participate in 2012 London Olympics.
