Argentina books place in Davis Cup final

PanARMENIAN.Net - Juan Martin Del Potro has shown an exceptional performance to take an early lead against world No.1, Novak Djokovic in order to enter into the finals of the 2011 Davis Cup competitions.

Argentina players have thrashed out the Serbian’s in the home ground with 3-2 against the defending champions to enter finals of the 2011 Davis Cup. Argentina booked its place in a fourth World Group final with a 4-1 victory over defending champion Serbia in Belgrade.

2009 US Open champion, Juan Martin Del Potro has knocked out the dangerous Serbia, Novak Djokovic in the final rubber with a score line of 7-6(5), 3-0 to complete the match in one hour and 32 minutes, after the world No.1, Djokovic has fell on ground and been retired with a back injury.Djokovic, who was suffering from constant back pain, saved a set point at 5-6 but hit a forehand into the net to give Del Potro the first set 7-6(5).

The second set gave del Potro a much stronger start with a break and 3-0 lead after which Djokovic fell on the court in excruciating pain and decided to sit by the sidelines, giving Argentina a place in the 2011 Davis Cup finals with a winning 3-1 lead.
