William Burns says ties with South Caucasus, Armenia of priority to U.S.

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 19, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.

Welcoming the guest, President Sargsyan noted the high-level mutual visits to testify to active Armenia-U.S. dialogue. According to Sargsyan, Armenia always supported strengthening ties with the U.S. in promotion of reforms, economic development, strengthening of democracy and provision of regional stability.

The President also praised U.S. efforts in Karabakh settlement in the capacity of OSCE MG co-chair.

Mr. Burns, in turn, expressed readiness to contribute to strengthening of U.S.-Armenia ties, noting relations with South Caucasus, and specifically, Armenia to be of major priority.

Discussion on bilateral, regional and economic issues was on meeting agenda, presidential press service reported.
