 CIS, Baltic states may support Azeri bid for 2020 OlympicsOctober 20, 2011 - 18:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - CIS and Baltic states are urged to support Azerbaijan's bid to host 2020 Summer Olympics. “The Secretary General of Russia’s National Olympic Committee Marat Bariyev urged sides at the regional forum of heads of national Olympic committees of CIS and Baltic states to take a common position in their votes,” Azerbaijani Minister for Youth and Sports Azad Ragimov said on Thursday, Oct 20. Madrid, Rome, Tokyo, Istanbul and Doha bid to host the games in 2020. The first presentation of the states will be held in February 2012. The International Olympic Committee will name the winner in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, on September 7, 2013, Vestnik Kavkaza reported.
