Armenia climbs 4th in European Team Chess Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia men's quad beat Spain 2,5:1,5 in the 6th round of Porto Carras-hosted European Team Chess Championships.

With Levon Aronian- Francisco Vallejo Pons, Sergei Movsesian- Ivan Lopez Salgado, Vladimir Akopian – Miguel Cordoba Illescas games ending in ties, Gabriel Sargissian brought a victory to the team, beating Luis Martinez Arizmendi.

After the 6th round, Armenia climbed 4th with 9 points; Romania is leading the championship with 10 points.

Armenia will face off against France in the 7th round of the tournament.
