BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN OIL PIPELINE NOT TO GO THROUGH TERRITORY OF ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Azeri branch of "British Petroleum" company David Woodward denied the opportunity for the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export pipeline to go through the territory of Armenia when speaking to journalists in Baku yesterday, Baku sources reported. As of the pessimistic opinions on the BTC pipeline, specifically over the insufficiency of the Azeri oil for attributing a due commercial attractiveness to the project, D. Woodward said: "The reality is that 50% of the pipeline is already built and no one can prevent us from finishing it." As of the impact of the political situation in Georgia on the realization of the project in question, D. Woodward reported he had held talks with representatives of the Georgian leadership in Tbilisi, in the course of which the need to support the building of the BTC oil pipeline was again emphasized.
