Polad Bulbuloglu: despite Baku protests, we’ll continue visits to Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Before being appointed an ambassador, I thought Karabakh conflict could only be solved in a military way, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia said.

“All are aware of Karabakh problem, one must not forget the bloody pages of our history. Still, I hope the young generation will solve this problem. Before being appointed an ambassador, I thought it could only be solved in a military way. But I came to believe in “public diplomacy”. I visited Nagorno Karabakh and understood that we can achieve something only through this way,” Polad Bulbuloglu said addressing the forum titled “CIS youth – future of public diplomacy” in Moscow.

He said he can not forget the day when the symphony orchestra of the CIS countries performed in Baku and Yerevan.

“In the past 20 years Azerbaijani musicians have not performed in Yerevan or Armenian musicians in Baku. The parents of musicians were anxious over the idea of organizing the concerts. Then my colleague Armen Smbatyan and I visited Baku and Yerevan, we were a kind of guarantor of security of our youth. For the first time, young Armenian musicians saw Baku boulevard, and Azerbaijani musicians were surprised when they were positively met in Yerevan markets. But this is not important, what is important is that they could listen to each other, understand the essence of the conflict,” he said.

Polad Bulbuloglu said the visit of intellectuals to Karabakh and Yerevan caused protests in Baku. “I know that our visits to Karabakh and Yerevan caused protests in Baku. But we will continue this work, so that our young generation can solve Nagorno Karabakh problem,” he said, according to APA.
