Blocking Strait of Hormuz not on Iran’s agenda – MFA spokesman

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said closing the Strait of Hormuz is not on Iran’s agenda, ISNA reported.

Mehmanparast said “threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran as war of nerves” and added, “The U.S. and Zionist regime are just trying to create bellicose climate inside the region through different threats.”

As to the question on Iran’s capability on closing the Strait of Hormuz as a deterrent leverage before the threats against Iran, Mehmanparast said, “Iran has already announced that closing the Strait of Hormuz is not on its agenda since we believe peace and stability should be established in the region and that all regional countries should make their best efforts in this regard.”
