Iran, Russia to sign two security agreements

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran and Russia are due to endorse two security, border and information-sharing agreements to enhance cooperation, Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said.

According to Fars news agency, Najjar reiterated that the two countries will also extend collaboration to combat drug trafficking.

He said Iran and Russia are two countries lying on main routes for drugs transit to Europe. “This means that Iran is at the beginning of the Afghanistan-Balkans-Europe route, while Russia is at the beginning of Afghanistan-Central Asia-Europe route,” he added.

The Minister said location in similar status in terms of drugs smuggling necessitates Iran and Russia's having more extensive cooperation to launch more effective struggle against the devastating substance.
