OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to discuss Genocide motion in BakuJanuary 27, 2012 - 15:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today, on January 27, Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus, Ambassador Pádraig Murphy will discuss French Senate’s adoption of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As head of the OSCE Office in Baku Ambassador Koray Targay told SalamNews, today he will meet with Deputy Foreign Ministers Araz Azimov and Mahmud Mammadguliyev. Discussion of regional conflicts, Nagorno Karabakh settlement, as well as French Senate’s recent decision on the Genocide bill will be in focus of the meeting. On January 23 the French Senate passed the bill with 127 votes for and 86 against. On December 22, 2011, it was adopted by the French National Assembly. The bill will impose a 45,000 euro fine and a year in prison for anyone in France who denies this crime against humanity committed by the Ottoman Empire.
