Rosatom head hails professionalism of Armenian NPP staffFebruary 7, 2012 - 18:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with Rosatom corporation director Sergei Kiriyenko. During the meeting the two men focused on issues related to development of Armenian-Russian cooperation, attaching importance to the collaboration particularly in the framework of construction of the new power unit in Armenia. Mr. Kiriyenko briefed President Sargsyan on his visit to Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), during which he familiarized himself with its operation and the territory meant for the construction of the new power unit. “Operation of Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is open to IAEA, EU and the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). That’s a proper approach from the perspective of NPP ongoing operation, as well construction of a new one,” head of Rosatom said, hailing the professionalism of Armenian NPP staff. Upon completion of the meeting, Armenian President awarded Sergei Kiriyenko with order of honor for his contribution to the development of Armenian-Russian relations in economic field.
