U.S. Assistant Secretary of State to visit Belgium, Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon will pay visits to Belgium and Russia within the next few days, the State Department said in a statement.

“Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip H. Gordon will travel to Brussels, Belgium, and Moscow, Russia, February 14-18,” the State Department said.

According to the statement, in Brussels, Gordon will meet with NATO and EU officials to “discuss a broad range of issues” on the U.S. transatlantic agenda as well as preparations for the NATO Summit in Chicago, due May 20-21.

“In Moscow, the assistant secretary will meet with senior Russian officials to discuss global issues and the bilateral agenda. He will also hold meetings with business and civil society leaders,” the statement reads, RIA Novosti reported.
