Hydrocarbon fuel to resume Yerevan Thermal Power Plant’s operation

PanARMENIAN.Net - By Armenian President’s Serzh Sargsyan’s decree, a decision has been taken to resume operation of Yerevan Thermal Power Plant CJSC through use of new technologies.

As Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan told a press conference on Feb 16, modern technologies and hydrocarbon fuel will be used to continue operation of the old power unit.

At Feb. 2 sitting Armenian government allowed Hana-Trans Company to extend the payment of VAT for three years in the framework of investment program at AMD 300 mln. The company plans to organize the delivery of coal mined in NKR to Yerevan through railway junction of Vardenis. The coal will be applied as hydrocarbon fuel for electricity production at Yerevan Thermal Power Plant.

The investment program stipulates creation of about 50 job vacancies at an average salary of AMD 180 thous.
