4 Armenian chess players win European Championship 1st round

PanARMENIAN.Net - First round of 13th European Individual Women's Chess Championship 2012 was held in Gaziantep, Turkey, with 5 players representing Armenia.

Elina Danielian gained victory over Lilja Drljevic (Serbia), Lilit Mkrtchian defeated Mihaela Sandu (Romania) while Lilit Galojan beat Emel Kaya (Turkey).

Armenian champion 2012 Maria Kursova also gained one point in a game against another Turkish player Mislina Bozkurt.

Anna Hairapetian was the only Armenian player who lost the game to Nino Khurtsidze from Georgia.

The championship is based on Swiss system in accordance with the ECU Tournament Rules and FIDE Rules of Chess. The playing time is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

Total prize amounts to Euro 100 000.
