RADIOACTIVE SOURCE DISCOVERED AT ARMENIAN-IRANIAN BORDER HAS NO CONNECTION WITH ARMENIAN NPP, HEAD OF DIRECTORATE FOR ATOMIC ENERGY SAID

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian customs officers of the frontier point of Meghri have recently discovered a source of strong radiation in the scrap metals exported to Iran, head of state directorate for safe consumption of radioactive and atomic energy Ashot Martirosian told journalists. In his words, after the neutralization of the source, the incident was brought to notice of MAGATE. Armenian experts together with MAGATE and with the assistance of the Russian ministry of atomic energy are revealing the place and date of the source production at present. At the same time the directorate head stated that the disclosed radioactive source has nothing to do with the Armenian NPP and could have been brought to Armenia from Georgia.
