3.213 MILLION LIVE IN ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to the returns of the population census held in 2001, 3 million 213 thousand people live in Armenia. The National Statistical Service of Armenia the other day published the overall results of the census, according to which urban population makes 2 million 66 thousand (64.3% of the total population number), while 1 million 146 thousand (35.7%) reside in rural areas. 1 million 103.5 thousand people live in the Armenian capital. 1 million 542 thousand out of the total population number are male, 1 million 671 thousand are female. The population capable of working is 1 million 935 thousand (60.2%). 99.1% are citizens of Armenia, 0.4% do not have citizenship, 0.2% are Russian citizens, 0.1% are citizens of Georgia, 0.2% have citizenship of other countries. As of the national composition, 97.89% are Armenians, 1.26% - Yezidis, 0.45% - Russians, 0.1% - Assyrians, 0.04% - Ukrainians, 0.04% - Kurds, 0.03% - Greeks.
