ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER: KARABAKH ISSUE FIRST OF ALL ISSUE OF NKR PEOPLE RIGHT FOR SELF-DETERMINATION

PanARMENIAN.Net - The issue of Nagorno Karabakh is first of all issue of the right of the NKR people for self-determination, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian stated at a press conference in Yerevan. "It realizes its right in the territory, which has never been part of independent Azerbaijan," he noted. When commenting on the issue of NKR participation in the negotiation process, V. Oskanian said he thought Stepanakert does not participate in the talks directly, however it is present in the overall process and the NKR authorities are being informed about the content of the meetings and they keep in touch with the OSCE MG Co-Chairs. "Thus, when the talks within the Minsk Group format start, Nagorno Karabakh will be included. A vivid evidence of falsity of the opinion that the NKR is absent at the talks is the OSCE MG Ambassadors visiting Stepanakert and meeting NKR authorities without fail during their visits," the Minister reminded. V. Oskanian also emphasized that there are no differences between the authorities of Armenia and the NKR, otherwise these would have been verbalized. At the same time the Minister noted that he has heard some politicians voicing discontent, however it did not issue from NKR officials. "Saying that the solution of the issue cannot be attained without the agreement and participation of Nagorno Karabakh in the preparation of the final document is quite another matter - I fully agree with it," the Minister noted.
