OSCE TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO SOLVE KARABAKH CONFLICT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II met with head of the Finnish permanent delegation to the OSCE Aleksi Harkonen accompanied by head of the OSCE Office in Armenia Vladimir Pryakhin, reported the Press Service of the Chancellery of Holy Echmiadzin. In the course of the meeting the Catholicos presented the historical past of the Armenian church, specifically noting the challenges and obstacles it had faced. «We want to thank your organization for your contribution to establishment of peace in the region, strengthening the cooperation spirit, creation of acceptable life conditions for people,» Garegin II said. In his turn Mr. Harkonen presented the details of his visit to Armenia, emphasizing that the trip provided an opportunity to get acquainted with Armenia and the Armenian people. He also underscored the importance of the meeting with the Catholicos. «The Armenian Church plays an important role in the unity of the Armenian people,» noted the Finnish diplomat. He also said he was sure the OSCE will do everything possible for the soonest settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. At the end of the meeting Harkonen conveyed greetings of the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Finland to the Catholicos.
