Year of Armenia in France Head Events to Be Held in 2006 Second Half

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian met with the delegation of the organization committee of the Year of Armenia in France led by Philippe Etienne, Director general for international cooperation and development at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, RA MFA press office reported. The delegation included Advisor to the French President Valérie Terranova, Commissioner for the conduction of the Year of Armenia in France Nelly Tardivier, Director General of the French Agency of Culture Dimitri Ovtchinnikov and others. French Ambassador to Armenia Henry Cuny and Armenian Ambassador to France Eduard Nalbandyna were also present at the meeting. The delegation arrived in Armenia to take part in the second sitting of the organization committee of the Year of Armenia in France. Vartan Oskanian assessed highly the conduction of the Year of Armenia in France, which will strengthen the century-old friendship between the Armenian and French people and the Armenian-French cooperation. It was stressed that the cultural events will provide the French people the possibility to get familiarized with the past and present of Armenia and the rich Armenian culture. Besides the delegation informed that the head events of the Year will be held in the second half of 2006.
